Where I’d Start for the Biggest Impact

When I first started my holistic health journey, I felt overwhelmed by all the information out there. There were so many things I could do—but what actually moves the needle? If I were starting from scratch today, I’d focus on just a few key areas that offer the highest return on investment (ROI) for long-term health.

The good news? Holistic health doesn’t have to be complicated. Small, intentional shifts make the biggest difference over time. Here’s where I’d start:

 

1. Prioritize Hydration: 2-3L of Water Daily

Before worrying about fancy superfoods or supplements, I’d first make sure I’m drinking enough water—because dehydration affects everything from energy levels to digestion to skin health.

High-ROI Habit:

✔️ Drink at least 2-3 liters of filtered water daily.
✔️ Start the morning with a large glass of water + a pinch of sea salt to replenish minerals.
✔️ Swap out sugary drinks or excess caffeine for herbal tea or infused water.

2. Focus on Real, Whole Foods

Food is the foundation of wellness. If I were starting over today, I wouldn’t stress about perfection—I’d simply focus on eating more real, unprocessed foods and reducing inflammatory, ultra-processed options.

High-ROI Habit:

✔️ Build meals around whole, nutrient-dense foods—lean proteins, healthy fats, fiber, and colorful veggies.
✔️ Balance blood sugar by including protein and healthy fats with every meal.
✔️ Minimize processed foods and opt for homemade alternatives when possible.

3. Establish a Baseline, High-Quality Supplement Routine

Even with a great diet, our modern lifestyle makes it nearly impossible to get all the nutrients we need from food alone. A foundational supplement routine helps fill in the gaps and support optimal health.

✔️ 3x per week of strength training (even just bodyweight workouts).
✔️ Daily movement—walking, stretching, or yoga for flexibility and recovery.
✔️ Listen to my body instead of pushing through exhaustion.

7. Build a Supportive Community & Environment

Wellness isn’t just about food and exercise—it’s also about who you surround yourself with. Finding a like-minded community makes the journey more sustainable and enjoyable.

High-ROI Habit:

✔️ Join wellness-focused groups (online or in-person) for support and accountability.
✔️ Create a home environment that supports your goals—less clutter, less stress, more intentionality.

 

Final Thoughts: Start Small, Stay Consistent

If I were starting over today, I wouldn’t try to do everything at once. Instead, I’d pick one or two habits, build consistency, and layer in more over time.

Health is about progress, not perfection. Start with the basics, listen to your body, and trust that small daily actions lead to big results!
